The Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia, is one of the country’s most important tourist destinations. The region is situated just north of Brisbane, right on the coast and it features some of the finest beaches and hinterland scenery in the land. Just north the town of Maroochydore lies on the banks of the Maroochy River and once again there is plenty to do and see. The golfing fanatic will be in their element with many quality courses to choose from. Shopping is also a popular pastime and the Sunshine Plaza shopping centre will be on your doorstep. As you travel further north you will pass through the beachfront centres of Marcoola and Coolum. Both of these are very popular holiday destinations. The beaches are great and accommodation to match. Noosa is the jewel in the crown of Sunshine Coast regions and it lies at the northern end of the region. The main tourist precinct lies on the beach and the Noosa River and is bordered on the southern side by the Noosa National Park. Hastings St is the centre of the action and here are the best in Boutique shopping, dining, and latte sipping cafés. There are several beaches within easy walking distance and the point surf at Noosa is world famous, especially when there is a big swell from the east.At the very northern extremity of the Sunshine Coast is the coastal holiday town of Rainbow Beach which is the jumping off destination for world heitage listed Fraser Island.

The Sunshine Coast is very easy to access. There is a domestic airport at Marcoola and flights are available direct from most capitals. The International Airport in Brisbane is only an hour or so by motorway and shuttle services will deliver you to your accommodation. There are also regular coach services that travel along the coast providing another convenient possibility.
