Mooloolaba is the centre of the Sunshine Coast both in a geographical sense and as a tourist destination. Situated right on the beachfront and at the mouth of the river with ocean access for large boats, this region has developed into the tourism capital of the Sunshine Coast. The tourist strip along the oceanfront is lined with restaurants that provide terrific food and a great holiday ambience.

Underwater World is located right in the middle of town and within walking distance of the accommodation. This is a fabulous place to educate and entertain the kids. The more adventurous can swim with the sharks or experience the many other great aquatic exhibits. The late Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo lies in the hinterland and they run a shuttle bus service that will pick up from your door. Don’t miss this fabulous display of Australian wildlife it is reputed to be one of the best in the country. The Eumundi Markets and the Malany and Glasshouse mountains areas are also close by and provide for a great destination for a family excursion or picnic.

The Sunshine Coast is easy to access with its own domestic airport just north of Maroochydore. Direct flights arrive and depart from most southern capitals. Brisbane international airport is about one hours drive away to the south along a modern motorway. There are shuttle bus and limo services available to take you to your chosen Mooloolaba accommodation.
