The wild and wonderful South Island of New Zealand offers everything from remote trekking, skiing and fantastic beauty spots through to whale-watching. In the far south are Invercargilland Dunedin, which are two of the South Islands major cities. The major ski fields of the South island are located around Queenstown and Wanaka and these include Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, Cardrona and Treble Cone. These four resorts are probably the best known ski resorts in New Zealand. Also in the south is the fantastic Milford Sound region and the Fox and Franz Joseph Glaciers. This west coast region is one of the most beautiful in New Zealand and the mountain and coastal scenery is absolutely spectacular so why not come for a New Zealand holiday and spend a week or so on the South Island.
