What to expect
Expect a physically demanding two days: guided walks of roughly 5km daily across uneven terrain and red dust, with commentary on geology, flora and the landscape's cultural significance. Accommodation is basic but secure—either a twin safari tent or a canvas swag depending on your preference. Meals are prepared communally; you'll help with cooking and cleanup. Nights are cool and stars dominate the sky. The pace is steady rather than rushed, giving you time to absorb the scale and silence of the place. This is genuine outback living, not a resort experience.

Moderate to advanced fitness required for walks; over 75s need a doctor's certificate. Pack one 15kg bag and one 5kg day bag only. Sleeping bags available to hire for $40 AUD. Notify the operator of dietary needs and medical conditions at booking. Children 8–17 must be accompanied by an adult. Not suitable for pregnant travellers, those with spinal injuries, or compromised cardiovascular health. Bring layers—desert temperatures swing sharply between day and night.
