What to expect

You'll start before dawn to reach the best vantage point as light floods across the rock. Your guide walks you through two marked trails where you'll spot waterholes, vegetation adapted to the red centre, and painted caves with ochre figures. Expect a mix of walking (terrain is generally accessible but uneven in places) and sitting to absorb the landscape. Your guide contextualises what you're seeing—the songlines, ceremony sites, and how the land has sustained people for tens of thousands of years. The morning finishes around mid-morning when the heat builds. Bring sturdy footwear and a hat; the sun reflects intensely off the rock and sand.

Eat breakfast before the tour starts. The national park entry fee (valid three days) is separate and purchased on arrival. Bring sun protection and water—though we supply bottled water, the desert air is dehydrating. Strollers and wheelchairs are accommodated; infant seats available on request.
