What to expect
Day one covers confined-water basics—mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy control—in a controlled setting. You'll progress through theory and practical skills before moving to open water. Days two and three take you to Rottnest Island. Expect four open-water dives where you'll apply what you've learned under your guide's supervision. The boat ride itself offers time to relax and spot local marine life. Lunch on the island breaks up the diving schedule. The pace is steady but manageable for beginners in reasonable health.
Good to know
You'll need to complete a medical questionnaire before starting. A moderate fitness level is required. Parents or guardians must accompany divers under 18. Not suitable if you have spinal injuries, cardiovascular concerns, or are pregnant. Public transport reaches the departure point.
