Start with a full day snorkelling the outer Great Barrier Reef, then explore the ancient Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation with a local guide and river cruise. Finish aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail Cableway, gliding over rainforest canopy. Package saves roughly 10% versus booking separately. What to expect

Day one: early check-in at Reef Fleet Terminal, 7.15am start. The boat departs 8am sharp for five hours in the water with snorkelling instruction, equipment and morning tea provided. You'll return mid-afternoon with cheese, biscuits and wine on deck. Days two and three flex to suit your schedule—one covers the Daintree: a guided drive through the world's oldest rainforest, a Daintree River cruise hunting for saltwater crocodiles, and the scenic stop at Cape Tribulation. The other day is pure nostalgia: the heritage Kuranda railway winds through gorges and waterfalls, then the Skyrail takes you back to Cairns via three canopy stations, each with rainforest walks.

Good to know

Book your reef day first; arrange rail/Skyrail day with the operator later. No meals included on railway day—pack or eat in Kuranda village. Scuba dives cost extra and require medical clearance. Don't dive within 24 hours before flying. Special diets (vegan, gluten-free, etc.) need 24-hour notice. Children must have a parent present; infants sit on laps or use infant seats.
