What to expect
You'll depart in an air-conditioned 4WD vehicle, travelling along rough tracks and creek beds that regular cars cannot traverse. The vehicle serves as your supply base—camping gear, cooking equipment, and water are transported alongside you, eliminating the need for heavy packs. Your first afternoon involves settling camp near the 4WD and beginning trail work on foot, building acclimatisation. Expect moderate physical exertion: sustained walking across uneven terrain, navigation by foot through scrub and rock outcrops. The night brings genuine darkness and silence; campfire cooking (you'll need to arrange and bring your own food), then sleeping under the open sky. Day two continues exploring nearby trails before returning to base.
Good to know
Moderate fitness essential—trails involve sustained elevation gain and uneven ground. Spinal injuries, pregnancy, or cardiovascular issues make this unsuitable. Adults only. Bring your own meals and drinks beyond provided water. Public transport exists nearby for access to the trailhead. National park fees included; parking covered.
