What to expect

This is a physically demanding tour requiring moderate-to-high fitness. Each day combines driving through outback scrubland with guided walks (typically six kilometres) into gorges, national parks and coastal reserves. You'll camp or stay in basic accommodation, share meal prep and camp tasks with other guests, and adapt to seasonal weather shifts—the operator may reroute activities if conditions demand it. Snorkelling happens at a reef site where coral and fish are metres from shore. Remote locations mean limited food sourcing, so dietary needs must be declared early.

Good to know

Medical screening required for those over 70. Not suitable if pregnant, with spinal injuries, or poor cardiovascular health. Children under six cannot join; those 6–17 need adult supervision. Vegetarian meals available with advance notice. Bring layers and sun protection; average temperatures vary greatly by season. Participate in camp chores—it's expected and builds camaraderie.
