What to expect
Day one takes you into the Daintree via custom 4WD, stopping along forest tracks and river edges. Your guide points out native birds, trees and animals whilst explaining the area's geological history and Aboriginal significance. Expect walking at an easy pace with frequent pauses. You'll return for an ice-cream break before heading back to your starting point. Day two is more leisurely. Board the reef boat early, cruise to two outer sites and spend your time snorkelling at depths and reefs suited to your confidence. The galley serves a hot lunch midday, and a glass of wine rounds out the return journey to Cairns by late afternoon.
