New Zealand Snowboarding

Snowboarding in New Zealand gives the northern hemisphere snowboarding enthusiast the opportunity to board in the off season in some of the most picturesque surroundings in the world. The New Zealand snow fields, situated in both the North Island and the South Island provide snowboarding resorts with a wide range of terrain to suit the level of expertise of any boarder. There are a number of resorts with plenty of lifts and chairs to cater for the fussiest tourist. Accommodation, which is nearly all off snow, caters for every budget. You can choose from every thing from a backpacker hostel right through to five star hotels and apartments. Restaurants and cafes abound and the après ski fun is legendary.

In the South Island you can choose between the resorts at Coronet Peak, The Remarkables or Cardrona which are all situated near New Zealand’s premier ski and snowboarding adventure city of Queenstown. Treble cone is close to Wanaka. Both of these towns lie on the shores of magnificent lakes and the scenery is nothing short of spectacular. There is plenty of quality accommodation also available in both areas. Further north, near the east coast city of Christchurch is the ski and snowboarding resort of Mt Hutt. There is plenty of accommodation available at Christchurch and snowboarding transfers are readily available. In the north island the main ski and snowboarding resorts are located on Mt Ruapehu. Whakapapa, Turoa and Tukino all provide excellent boarding and facilities. Once again there is plenty of accommodation off snow. Mt Ruapahu is an active volcano and you will be able to brag to your friends about your experience.

The international snowboarder can access these ski fields by flying to either Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch or Queenstown, and then using ground transportation to the ski fields. Our friendly staff would be only too happy to assist you in booking your snowboarding holiday as well as arranging all of your transfers. Car hire is also an option and once again we would be only too happy to assist. Come and ski among the magnificent New Zealand mountains this year, you will be so glad that you did. Once you have experienced snowboarding in New Zealand you will want to return over and over again. The New Zealand season starts in June and runs through until October so make your reservations now to ensure you are not disappointed.
