ITINERARY
DAY 1 :: ALICE SPRINGS TO ULURU (AYERS ROCK)
Depart from Alice Springs, your gateway to the outback and spectacular Uluru. Explore Uluru's base on foot and visit the local culture centre to learn more about Indigenous art and culture. Finish your day with a breathtaking sunset over Uluru, traditional outback meal and a glass of sparkling wine. (LD)
DAY 2 :: KATA TJUTA (THE OLGAS) AND KINGS CANYON REGION
Get up early to experience a spectacular Red Centre sunrise at Kata Tjuta. Enjoy a 7km hike through winding gorges and past sandstone domes in the magical Valley of the Winds. After lunch, begin the journey through Central Australia's rolling red dunes to your overnight stop at Kings Canyon. (BLD) |
DAY 3 :: WATARRKA NATIONAL PARK (KINGS CANYON) AND WALLACE ROCKHOLE
Prepare for an enchanting hike between sheer cliffs of Kings Canyon, then explore the Garden of Eden rock pool. From here it's on to Hermannsburg to discover Aboriginal art and crafts and learn about the life of Indigenous artist Albert Namatjira, before heading to the Wallace Rockhole Aboriginal community. Overnight in Wallace Rockhole. (BLD)
DAY 4 :: WESTERN MACDONNELL RANGES TO ALICE SPRINGS
Spend your morning admiring Wallace Rockhole's ancient paintings with the added insight of a local guide before travelling on to the Western MacDonnell Ranges. Check out the geologically rare opposing red rock faces of Standley Chasm and save some energy for a wallaby spotting walk before the trip back to Alice Springs. (BL)

Sturdy walking shoes (ankle high), hat & sunscreen, towel & toiletries, warm clothing in winter, water bottle, torch, insect repellent, camera & film, pillow, sleeping bag (can be hired for AUD$15).
