Sunshine Coast Accommodation

The Sunshine Coast has plenty of resort style accommodation for your next holiday. Situated just north of Brisbane, in the south east corner of Queensland, the Sunshine Coast is one of Australia’s leading tourist destinations. It is extremely easy to get to with an international airport in Brisbane connected to the Sunshine Coast by a modern motorway, and a domestic airport at Marcoola in the very centre of the Sunshine Coast. Caloundra is the southernmost holiday center with both surf and calm water beaches. The Pumicestone Passage which separates Bribie Island from the mainland is a top family fishing and boating destination and its calm water beaches are a magnet for families with small children. The main shopping are is full of great boutiques and there are plenty of cafés and restaurants in the area to choose from. The accommodation in Caloundra is modern and there is plenty to choose from. As you travel north you will cross the Mooloolah river and come to the twin resort towns of Mooloolaba and Maroochydore. Both have river frontage and superb beaches. The area known as Alexandra Headland lies between the two. Mooloolaba in particular has a fantastic ocean front accommodation and shopping area that has a fabulous holiday atmosphere. This area contains many new resorts and is the holiday hub of the Sunshine Coast.

After crossing the Maroochy river on your northward travel, you will pass two great golfing resorts. Both have competition standard layouts to challenge even the most competent golfer. Novotel Twin Waters Resort and the Hyatt Coolum resort are both two of the best resorts available in south east Queensland. Coolum itself is a great holiday destination and it too has great beaches and excellent accommodation. Noosalies at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast and this is one of the icons on the Australian holiday scene. It has a superb beach which is surrounded by fabulous accommodation. Hastings St. runs along the beachfront and has all shopping facilities and is also packed with chic restaurants and cafés. All kinds of accommodation is available ranging from backpacker hostels right through to the finest in five star resorts. The Sunshine coast hinterland in the blackall ranges is also a fantastic destionation and some of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland accommodation and Rainbow Beach has to be experienced to be believed.
