Northern Territory

Northern Territory

The Northern Territory is one of Australia’s most important regions for tourism. This area contains some of the icons of the Australian tourism market. Destinations like Ayres Rock (Uluru and Kata Tjuta National Park), Kakadu National Park, The McDonnell Ranges, Katherine Gorge, Kings Canyon, Darwin and Alice Springs are all listed here and we can organise everything you need to make your Northern Territory holiday a reality. The area is easy to access even though the distances are vast. There are major airports at Ayres Rock, Alice Springs and Darwin and we can help you with tours and accommodation in each area. There are also a number of extended coach tours which cover large areas of the Territory.

Darwin is the capital and the major jumping off point for your holiday. In Darwin we can arrange accommodation in a vast range of products ranging from backpacker hostels to self contained apartments, hotels and motels. We can also help with a range of day or extended tours. Day tours are available to visit Kakadu National park, Litchfield National Parks and the jumping Crocodiles, Katherine Gorge and the Tiwi Islands. There are extended tours available to the Cobourg peninsular and Kakadu. Darwin is a modern tropical city set on the harbour front and there are many fine restaurants and cafés. The shopping is interesting and the evening markets are bustling and alive with bargains and food stalls.

Alice Springs is the largest town in Central Australia and is a bustling modern town situated in the desert near the MacDonnell Ranges. There is a range of accommodation available. There are hotels, motels, resorts, self contained apartments and backpacker hostels. There is also a range of extended and day tours available. Day tours can be taken to the local attractions and also to Ayres Rock with Emu Run Tours. Other extended tours operate to Kings Canyon, Ayres Rock and the surrounding deserts. It is also possible to take a balloon ride in the evening and experience this magnificent area in a totally unique way.

Ayres Rock (Katu Tjuta) is probably Australia’s best known landmark. This is the largest single rock in the world and rises from the desert landscape like a mountain. This area is sacred to the local aboriginals and the rock has significant dreamtime significance for them. There are many tours available and nearby is the local holiday centre situated at Yulara. Voyages resorts operate the resort and accommodation caters for all levels from backpacker hostel through quality family accommodation to the magnificent sails in the desert. It is essential to book well in advance as there is nowhere else to stay in the region and it is a long 450 kilometre drive to Alice Springs for the next available room! Also along this road is the magnificent Kings Canyon and excellent accommodation is available at the local resort and caravan park.
