Coolum is one of the jewels in the Sunshine Coast’s tourist destinations. Coolum is located in the north of the Sunshine coast and just south of the resort town of Noosa. It is right on a fabulous surfing beach and there is a great holiday atmosphere especially in the town centre where you will find a great assortment of excellent restaurants, friendly cafés, and chic boutiques. The area is close to the Sunshine Coast hinterland and there are many things to see and do. Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo is not far away and they run a shuttle bus service that can do door to door deliveries. This is a great day out for the kids. Another terrific local attraction is the Eumundi markets. Here you can roam among the stalls checking out all the local produce and craft. The markets are quite famous in the region. At nearby Mooloolaba you will find Underwater World. This is a wonderful exhibition with a wide range of aquatic wildlife on display and you can even swim with the sharks if that’s what takes your fancy.

Coolum accommodation provides a wide range of offerings that will suit any budget. Everything is here including backpacker hostels, resorts, self contained apartments, and hotels. Most of the accommodation lines the beachfront and has commanding ocean views. Everything is within walking distance of the town centre and the beach. Coolum is very easy to access with an airport located just a little to the south near Maroochydore. The Sunshine Coast airport services domestic flights from all southern capitals with many regular services. Coaches that travel north and south through Queensland call in to the region and we have many rental options available if you would like to rent a car. Car rental is one of the best options as it leaves you free to drive around the region and visit the hinterland. The nearest international airport is located in Brisbane and it is around one hour’s drive away along a modern freeway.
